Just bought this a couple of days ago in Istanbul. When I aranged the trip I'd hoped to be able to buy one, and I'm really pleased I managed it. It's not great quality, but pretty cheap, and not a piece of tourist souvenir tat..it does play pretty well (shame I don't!). All handmade, solid woods, tied gut frets with microtonal spacing..7 strings arranged in 3 courses. For less than $100 including a gig bag, I had to have it.....bring on the dancing girls....

  • quarter notes? uh oh.

nice piece for the dough, though.

  • Somebody gave me one of these recently (and the bag) to refurbish so I think I might be onto you about re-stringing it now that you are the expert!

  • Interesting...

  • I can't get comfy with a roundbacked mandolin...I won't be going near the saz.Lol

    Sounds interesting though...
