  • heres what i dont understand...castle queenside you say??how can you castle when the rook is there?castling is not a legal move in this position right??can you explain how you can castle if the rook is attacking b1?

  • @lazimofo90 The king only cannot castle when a square that the King passes through is attacked. The king doesnt has to pass through b1. onlyif d1 and c1 were attacked or if the king was in check or a piece is blocking the castle move by occupying a Square on the back rank between king and rook then castling would be an illegal move.

    I hope that helps.

  • By the way, what is your ELO level ? I began to play chess seriously like 2years ago, and I would like to increase my level, to reach like 2000 ELO level (that would be great). What is your advice to progress ? Sometimes I can play 10hours a day, just games, and I have the feeling that my level is the same at the end, it's very frustrating.

  • I dont have a official rating yet. (I joined my chess club about 1 year ago) My advise to progress is to play long games (much better than a lot of Blitz games).

And you should always analyse your games. other than that just do the usual stuff read books about endgames and the middlegame and some about openings, you want to play. And do tactical problems (for example you can go to chesstempo(dot)com/).

Play against stronger players you learn much more.

    Hope this helps!

  • Good video :)

  • Thank you!

  • this is not really a trap, its more showing what happens when a player fails to develop his pieces and instead tries to go after pawns, Rb8 was not passive it was the wrong plan, the point of Rb8 was to attack, just a terrible idea

  • Blender by Black even i would have not wanted my king open in the board

  • Nice video. I just want to add one of the rules of castling. -->The King cannot castle when one of the squares he is going to pass is under attack. In this case, the R on b8 attacks b1-square. White can castle here since Ra1 is only the one to pass the b1-square. Hope it helps to the newbie.

  • Hey man, listen, you really know your stuff! Are you rated? What I would do, though, is get a computer program to make your video with. ICC for instance.

  • zzzee is german?

  • how can you call this a trap?

  • this is not a trap

  • @m3my531f1 Moreover, statistically speaking, if players A and B were to play a game and A has 100 Elo more than player B, then Statistically, player B has only 4% of winning. So a jump like 460 Elo isn't natural, unless it was one of your first tournaments. Or.. that I'm talking to a genius :)

  • @m3my531f1 Was it one of the first tournaments you played? Because, everyone starts with 1500(or 1200 as per some norms). So if your actual rating is about 1900, its possible to gain 460 points and very fast too(ie in the one tournament). Now that you have a higher rating, see if you can increase it by atleast 200 points. You will see that its not that easy.

  • @Akshaylive i somewhat disagree to that cuz i gained 460 points in a tournament

  • @mapleleaf771 Agreed. I just quoted what I read in a chess book. That, its hard to increase actual Elo by 100 points even by practice!
