The chairman of the Matatu Owners Association says fleet owners will not be cowed by threats from COTU to stop passenger services next week. Simon Kimutai maintains Matatu's will operate as usual on the 19th and subsequent days. He says it would be unfair to deny Kenyans an opportunity to travel and meet their loved ones over the festive season. COTU secretary general Francis Atwoli has warned of dire consequences for public transporters who ignore the strike. As KTN's Patrick Amimo reports, Kimutai now wants the police to charge Atwoli with incitement and ensure adequate security for travelers countrywide.
Shut up Atwoli you are inciting the youth to cause violence

Not to be pedantic, but Atwoli and co should be a bit more realistic and not play to the galleries, a 30% reduction in fuel is not realistic. Fuel globally is high sembuse sisi? We have a very inefficient KPA and KRA, transport is expensive and the market will just but reflect reality on the ground!
