I thought that owl sounded somewhat like Darcia. I think the same voice actor does the owl as Darcia. But that Owl gave me the creeps. I have many suspicions of it. Maybe it was an electronical owl from darcia! Or a ghost from the bones in the cave, as Clatra so kindly pointed out. So many possibilities.

I don't remember now. It's been a long, long time. I do remember hearing it a lot. Might have just been speculation. But I feel like it was more than that. I also think it makes sense. It's close to Darcia's old manor, it knows things no owl should, including what the wolves are trying to do... and in an anime this trippy it isn't hard for me to imagine the paradise that consumed him might have made him an owl.

*shivers* Goddamnit I hated that owl... so creepy... my personal theory about it? It was the last thing besides the bugs to live in the Forest of Death, and with no competetion it grew old and fat on the insects, but finally it got slow and arrogant enough that the bugs ate it too... the ghost stayed on the Forest until the wolves passed through, and it thought they were interesting enough that the spirit of the owl decided to haunt them until the end...

That's like the whole show. I wonder if it might have been a lot better if they spun it out to a good sixty episodes and gave us some nice nerdy lore.
