Glad the Beatles squashed this nonsense.

Really good rhythm. Must be essential for Irish folk. Kickin' ass bro! Respect!

@daev3000 Maybe so, but my melodica is warmly welcomed at the session that I bring it to each week. Thanks for posting this vid.

Really nice! I've tried to post my attempt of Irish music on melodica but its completely inferior to this! Amazing.

This is absolutely amazing!!! You play so beautifully. It took me to another place listening to you! Thank you for sharing your awesome talent. Do you play piano too? I'm a pianist who just bought this exact Melodica(LOVE it!). your fingers move so fast over the keys....how did you get that speed?! :)

that's what i wanted to do, playing Irish music with a melodica!! but mine doesn't have enough keys...I am gonna have to buy a new, better one :)
that work in a session?

It can work in a session, except that the model I got is tuned really sharp so I don't bring it out. I could retune it by filing the reeds down, but that's a pain.
People say it sounds like a concertina, except louder. It's great for cutting through a big noisy session.

I should also add that if anyone out there wants to learn how to play Irish music, melodica isn't really the instrument to do it on. Buy a tin whistle for $15 instead.

Dude- AMAZING! I just bought the Student 32 Melodica by Hohner. What key is that played in? I love Irish music and am part Irish and would like to learn it. Where could I find out the key/notes for that jig?

The mode is D Dorian, which is similar to D minor. If you want to learn it, the best way to do it is to listen carefully and watch my fingers. If you want written notes, you could go to a site like JC's abc tune finder and then search for "Jenny's Welcome to Charlie".

That's a pretty low rating for a pretty legit video. 5 stars says I!

Thanks Zebra. Some loser gave me a 1. I recommend other people counteract this by also rating me five stars!
