Abbey Road Studios, 16th April 1966. The Beatles finished recording "Rain", the b-side for their next single "Paperback Writer", during an 11-hour session on this day. Work began at 2.30pm, and finished at 1.30am the following day. Paul McCartney added a bass guitar part onto the basic track, which had been recorded two days previously.

  • @TheAtomicPopsicle me too text me back if you founf out

  • yea there is its in tebet lotta freaks went lookin for it and never came back,,,,eat it

  • Anyone know of the original backward version? Is there a recording or any info about it anywhere?

  • @wowutils Well said! Even Beatles-haters like Michael Stipe are indebted to them, since all of REM's music sounds like a reworking of Rain.

  • so many great things going on here: among them is the coolest bass track on a Beatles 45

The sound itself, warm... just gives me the chills

  • @wowutils i agree 99%!

    why all the language?

  • This song and Taxman is why Ringo is Ringo. When they let him play instead of just keeping the beat he was brilliant.
