In this, her very first film, and at only 19 years of age, she was still known as "Rosita Moreno." Though she'd already been on Broadway, this was an auspicious early presentation of her talent and beauty and her first Hollywood film! In this scene she co-starred with Paul Henried, and lovely Catherine McLeod. Also, just a brief glimpse of sinister matron Buehler, played by superb Grace Coppin.

@daris89 Hi! Still the most charming of ladies! I can only imagine what would have happened if she'd entered the "Miss Universe Pageant!" Puerto Rico has won no less than 5 times!! Had Rita entered, it would have been 6! Glad she didn't attempt as we'd have missed her beauty, acting, singing and dancing talent! Thanks for your comment.

@universoeterno1 You're welcome! Rita's amazing here, and still so very young. These are really some of the happiest bits from what may be one very disturbing film. I'm grateful for your comment!

How this brings back memories! My companion Gilbert Price and I saw Moreno in "Gantry." I think they were showbiz friends when she was Googie in the farce called "The Ritz" (with Jerry Stiller in 1975!). Rita called Gilbert BB (beautiful buns). . . .Thanks, varadero!

@revdoodoo You're welcome kind friend revdoodoo! Also, happy to know that Gilbert and Rita were friends! It would be difficult, maybe impossible to have found, or still find, two more beautiful individuals! I'm happy they were friends, and also that you enjoyed this first little bit of what was to become a momentous career! Viva Rita, and Gilbert! Though only amazing Rita is still with us, I'd love to have seen a "duo" by these two superb performers! My friend, thank you!
