@JennaSmith987 It's the Bandi Chhor Diwas(Liberator Day) that is celebrated in the gurudwara complex on the night coinciding with that of diwalil. Guru Hargobind ji is known as Bandhi Chhor because the imprisoned hindu princes (Bandhi) were released (Chhor) by Him from gwalior fort of moghuls. Upon their return to Amritsar grand celebrations were held. Harmandir Sahib ji (Golden Temple) was illuminated and fireworks were displayed. Gurbani Kirtan (Hymns) and prayers were performed.

Diwali commemorates the return of Lord Rama, along with Sita and Lakshman, from his fourteen-year-long exile and vanquishing the demon-king Ravana.
So should Sikh be celebrating Diwali? Does it have justification in Guru Granth sahib?
