I never said the naval gun race wasn't to commemorate anything, nor did i say the army gun race was, I said stop comparing them, having said that the army gun race is based on actions that were continually performed on the battlefield for many years where the naval was performed for one siege so they needed to commemorate it. I have seen the naval gun race and its pretty crazy, but I myself was a member of the army gun race which was also a rush to perform.......were you?

@cropduster34 - the Naval Field Gun race was specifically to commemorate the actions of Naval gunners in the Boer War during the Relief of Ladysmith. Not sure what action the army is paying homage to? Maybe you can enlighten us?
Imitation or not, it's a lot tamer than the original Royal navy version!

To all the dumbasses who are comparing this to the naval gun run, how do you think the army got their artillery pieces across ravines and rivers back in the day? This is not an imitation of the naval gun race but an imitation of what was done during combat and they came across said obstacles, give your head a shake

this is real men ie the ARMY not a bunch of Gilligans trying to play at Army ;)
lol, just slaggin you shit eaters. Ive seen the naval run its good too. Canada didnt do this to impress or try to compete with UK run, its for ourselves.

A pale imitation of the naval gun run. What a shame the navy can't find the money for that anymore.
