At Crittenton Women's Union, our goal is to help low-income women see how they can obtain the education and training to acquire a family-sustaining job, find appropriate housing and become economically secure. CWU's programs guide women to think differently about their career and personal goals. Together, we explore ways to span the gap that women face when they move out of poverty and toward self-sufficiency. As part of this process, we are linking our own programs with other organizations to form tighter, more effective networks of resources.
Our research department determines the barriers to self-sufficiency and the best ways for women to break through them to gain the skills, jobs and housing they need. Our advocacy staff helps eliminate the obstacles women face, building partnerships across sectors, and creating better policies around child care, housing, and workforce training. We strive to ensure that all women can live, work and thrive!
