Not so. The reason Toph is so good is because she is so much like the Badger Moles. She is blind so she learned to see with earthbending, like the moles. It's not that Toph is strong because they taught her. It's a mix of natural skill and a fantastic understanding of the truth of Earthbending that she realised herself. Something it took Boomy years to grasp.

@Bushflare Toph is also an especially strong earthbender because she was taught directly by the originals, the badgermoles. If Zuko or any other firebenders had learned their craft entirely from the dragons, then they could have been very strong.

@ztslovebird The movie captured the spirit perfectly. It captured it, tied it up, tortured it for a 100 minutes to the brink of death, and finally released it to be nursed back to health by the fans.

Only because she's blind. Nobody could be as strong as her unless they gave up their sight. As for me, I'm more partial to waterbending. Airbending strikes me as too frantic. Earth bending is tough and fire is powerful but I am more of the patient type. Water is a calm element that can cut through steel if the need arises. Also, bloodbending ftw.
