i would think that a culture that took so much pride in their swords, would have put the same care into making their guns. o well, not my loss.

During the war, Bath Iron Works in Maine alone built more destroyers for the U.S. Navy compared to the total output of destroyers from every shipyard in Japan for the Imperial Navy.
In the 1940's, U.S.A. was an industrial superpower - Japan was not.
