  • @thefourandonly1 my teacher told me to burn the edges that way the little strings will curl in and it will make it waxy you can do it with ribbons too

    But my teachers say not to darn the edge (if it frays, just cut it off) cause it makes you balance much easier so you don't have to work as hard....

  • @ballet81895 it keeps the satin on the edge form fraying . you could just leave it but ive tripped over pieces that came loose during class and fallen pretty hard

  • It's all to do with comfort, otherwise it will really hurt their feet when dancing
