Uh...Superman II never happened in the Returns universe according to Singer so Jason wasn't conceived then. Also, Jason was born premature...except he wasn't. He's on term because of the Superman conception, but Richard thinks he's the father, so as far as he knows Jason was born a month early...its in the novelisation...and you call yourselves Superman fans? :P

Of course we call ourselves Superman fans - but we're taking it on the film basis (why read the Novelisation of a film when you can just watch the film?) - and thus we were voicing concerns. Plus in the film it's never stated as such - and part of the request means that people wanted us to discuss certain points of view, which we did. It's the nature of our review.

And Superman II DID happen in the Returns Universe according to Singer, because he told me so himself, in person.

It's no excuse but the hideously poor parenting of allowing Jason on the boat was a bad plot device to get Jason on the boat for Lex Luthor to twig that possibly Jason=super powered kid - if that's not taken advantage of in the sequel it'll be a waste of knowlege by the greatest criminal mind of our time.

At the premiere? Well he changed his mind and later said that SII doesn't happen...or at least the love nest in the Fortress part. In any case, Jason wasn't conceived in Superman II.
