Oh, okay, I get it, thanks. But I personally don't think that B&A's expressions are over-the-top, but that's just my opinion.

Using facial expressions is OK as long as you do it with taste and it's not completely over-the-top... And it's too often used to hide the lack of content too (just like flinging your arms around in every direction if you see what I mean).

If I were a judge, I would have given Ben's a deduction (and that's saying something because I typically love his skating.)

For those who don't undertand French, the commentators are amazed at how over-the-top their expression and their costumes (his costume actually) are. They say it is way "too much" and overdramatic, with absolutely no subtelty. He says drama is OK but it must be good quality drama and not this kind of vulgar "facial gymnastics" that's completely out of place. He also says that this kind of thing is killing ice dancing by destroying its credibility.
