@pianomanmaestro From what I hear, they weren't very fuel efficient, and they were really only experimental locomotives (hence the "X")

Wow, are you lucky. :D I have made it a point to see UP 6936 in person before i die or before she gets retired, whichever comes first. The engines sound just like the 645's in the SD40-2; are they the same PMs?

Yup, the Centennial's got two 645's. Not sure if they are exactly the same as SD40-2's and GP40's, but they sound very similar, with a bit more bass.
