Bonaire Shock

Tom Cruise, when sprayed with a water pistol in London was outraged and
called the guy a Jerk.

The MV Free Winds a training ship for the scientologist movement has been
dumping waste water here in Bonaire for the last ten years with the full
knowledge that the little island has no facilities for receiving such
waste water and that they are contributing to an ever growing
environmental and health hazard in Bonaire. After being given the news that the ground water in Bonaire is showing
signs of heavy contamination the government of Bonaire took action! They
now have given the Free Winds permission to carry on dumping their water
on the land. That should help!! Bonaire may have to wait a further five to six months before a treatment
plant can be inaugurated. These last months could well be the difference
between a recoverable situation and the destruction of the eco systems of
Bonaire.

PS: This may be silly, (obvious) but have you taken this to the media? Scientology *hates* bad PR---almost as much as they hate losing money. So? If you haven't gotten media, start there. If you have, get more.

Bonaire is a shithole the scientologists are pigs but ill bet some "official was paid to just look the other way.Bonaire cannot support the amount of humans who visit as it is anyhow. Every year they figure out how to squeeze more and more tourists and they leave waste also.They have done this to themselves with no thought to the future.Bottled water for life now ! then you can polute the sea with all your water bottles.

All of the preservation efforts for the marine life but we are completely failing in the simplest of the problems... Sewage treatment and refuse. Good luck ... Atleast it seems the Dutch care more about preservation than the prior govt.

Does the government of Bonaire profit in some way from this dumping of waste? I can't imagine any other reason for it to continue to allow the deliberate pollution of its groundwater (and, ultimately, its shoreline waters). AND -- is the profit that its government makes really worth destroying Bonaire's beauty and its visitors' and inhabitants' health? Who will want to visit, live and work there? Very short-sighted (to say the least) of Bonaire's government.

I am witnessing the slow death of a dear friend. Name? Bonaire. Wake up & smell the coffee. Or maybe the stench from the polluted land fill will wake them up? Doubtful. Immediate action must be taken NOW. #1:STOP the importing of waste/sewage from outside sources! Then work on Bonaire's own issues. How do we get them to take immediate action? The time for promises is OVER! Let Bonaire live.
