Today was a truly momentous and monumental day as it marked the tenth anniversary of 18 TIR ۱۸ تیر - which brought out an OVERWHELMING crowd presence in front of Iran's Embassy in London between 6-9PM.

18 TIR (Iranian day & month corresponding to 9 July) in 1999 marked the start of the separation of the movement of Iranian students with the Islamic republic and their lack of confidence in this regime, according to Mr. Said Razavi-Faqih, an influential leader of Iranian students.

There were many thousands of people gathered today to mark the 10th anniversary.

A group are on Hunger Strike which commenced as of Monday 6 July 2009 in front of the London offices of Amnesty International. Our thoughts are with them.

Demonstrations are between 6-9PM EVERY WEEK DAY, and 4-7PM in the WEEKENDS.

London is the only city outside of Iran to hold DAILY demonstrations. Come and join us.

We need your support.

The nearest UnderGround station is: South Kensington.
The exact address is: 16 Princes Gate London, SW7 1PT

  • Need much much more press coverage, there were some 5000 supporters of the freedom activists present chanting and singing, this was the most crowed since it started and has been going every day, moto is

"it is order of the day while Ahmadi is there"

meaning we will be here every day till he is booted out

  • Yes, that's rights, demonstrations are ongoing EVERYDAY.

  • if only i was still living in barcelona, i wouldve moved up with my friends in london for these months, just to be there among fellow iranians. <3.

  • Why don't you & your friends come, for a few days or even a weekend?

  • This is great but if we are trying to get the world to hear our voice we should chant and speech in English rather than Farsi so our message is heard... We are missing the point.

  • Yes I take the point. I will pass it on.

  • i wish i could! but in order to go i would have to take a plane, and i dont have enough money for it. I was organizing the protests here where i live, because there are none (can you believe it?) but i had to cancel due to security reasons. it was one of the worse things ever for me, it devastates me that i couldnt do it. im going to keep trying, because i still might be able to pull it off.

you guys keep going, youre a true inspiration.
