★★ 10th ANNIVERSAY of 18 TIR - THURSDAY 9 JULY 2009 - LONDON Demonstrations ۱۸ تیر ★★

Today was a truly momentous and monumental day as it marked the tenth anniversary of 18 TIR ۱۸ تیر - which brought out an OVERWHELMING crowd presence in front of Iran's Embassy in London between 6-9PM.

18 TIR (Iranian day & month corresponding to 9 July) in 1999 marked the start of the separation of the movement of Iranian students with the Islamic republic and their lack of confidence in this regime, according to Mr. Said Razavi-Faqih, an influential leader of Iranian students.

There were many thousands of people gathered today to mark the 10th anniversary.

A group are on Hunger Strike which commenced as of Monday 6 July 2009 in front of the London offices of Amnesty International. Our thoughts are with them.

Demonstrations are between 6-9PM EVERY WEEK DAY, and 4-7PM in the WEEKENDS.

London is the only city outside of Iran to hold DAILY demonstrations. Come and join us.

i wish i could! but in order to go i would have to take a plane, and i dont have enough money for it. I was organizing the protests here where i live, because there are none (can you believe it?) but i had to cancel due to security reasons. it was one of the worse things ever for me, it devastates me that i couldnt do it. im going to keep trying, because i still might be able to pull it off.

you guys keep going, youre a true inspiration.
