"1:10.000" (2010) is a sound sculpture by Michele Spanghero

materials: iron tank, aluminum, speaker, audio cable, CD player
dimensions: 34x34x38 duration: 13 min. loop
installation view at SPAC Buttrio
courtesy the artist and Galerie Mario Mazzoli, Berlin

description: "In a small iron tank is played the recording of the acoustic resonance of a huge, empty oil tank. The work is therefore based on recording the sound environment of a void space and its subsequent volumetric compression in a small, hermetically sealed container, so that the small metal tank acoustically contains a void 10.000 times bigger."
