This is a video performance of MEXIKA "Live at Viento y Agua" in Long Beach, CA. We are playing the danza called "Xipe Totec". The audio here is on this video is ok, but the digital audio they recorded us is incredible and so we made a "Live" CD of us. My regular partner, Chris Garcia couldn't be there that night so I got other MEXIKA members to join me and have fun playing the Danzas Aztecas. Please note that we realize we are playing some of the danzas faster or slower than normal, this is because we had no room dancers and wanted to interpret "some" of the danzas specifically as a music! FYI: We wanted to show you that we are a professional group that researches the music and dance of Ancient Mexico, that's the only reason we tagged this under "aztec music", so you can see us! Although Aztec is the most popular name and there are people wanting to sell it to you as Aztec but this is actually Indigenous Dance Music of Mexico or "Mexica" music.
