Have you seen the people who live in nice houses in nice areas... so lonely as well ? Divorced, elderly, single people, bereaved. All around, but most lack the courage to ask for help.

Ohh my god, I found it.. This song is my childhood, When I was at my Nan's I would always listen to this, it was my dads favorite song.. Now my nan has passed with cancer and I haven't listened to it since then... Now this has made my day complete.. Complete...

other than being a great song the writer has it the nail on the head in that all the work and sacrifice the ordinary people do when there usefulness is finished they are discarded like a peice of paper . The man with the medals fought for the privilage of his children working longer and having to sell there houses for care in old age . His grandchildren blessed with jobs at kfc ,tesco,pitza hut etc,if lucky.At least they can vote every 4 or 5 years to change there plight.

In this clip he has modenized it. Still love it, but prefer the older tune. I have always loved his music since I grew up with it. Just Great...! Lucky all of today who just click and download the lylics. We had to keep replaying the LP's and Singles. Does anyone remember that...?

@Fodderingham If this was about "the streets of Oslo", there would be a political scandal (but the heroinists would be neglected.) England and USA can't stop sucking the rich minority. By the way, capitalism work (better) in social democratic countries like Norway and Sweden also.)
