Popular gospel singer and former church choir director from Plymouth, Gregory Beauchamp Washington, 33, has pled guilty to one count of sexual assault against a Brooklyn Park teenage girl who sang in the choir. Washington entered the plea in district court Monday. He faces up to 15 years in prison and $9,000 to $30,000 in fines at his sentencing Nov. 12. For the full article go to mnsun.com.
The Hennepin County Sheriff's Office is looking for a few good men and women to volunteer as special deputies. Special deputies volunteer must be age 21 or older. Volunteers may serve in county's Water Patrol unit, Mounted Patrol, Emergency Squad Unit or Mobile Amateur Radio Corps. Special deputies maintain regular shifts and also serve during community events like the Republican National Convention and in emergencies.
