UPDATE:

Apparently Bioware hadn't intended the Indoctrination Theory all along. Although the IT with its many arguments makes perfectly sense (also within the lore). Bioware hasn't denied the IT directly, but it seems they rather want to keep their artistic integrity thus wanting us to take the endings at face value.

I think the new endings are very nice but should've been in the game right from the beginning!

However, unfortunately Bioware showed us that we have to take the endings at face value, no profound mind struggle, no indoctrination attempt, everything happened as we have seen it. Bioware has missed the chance to write gaming history by delivering us one of the greatest mind blowing twists ever...but it was not to be.

Fortunately everybody can choose his/her own personal ending... whether it is IT or not ;) Therefore we have our own imagination...

Choose whatever pleases you and remember all the great moments in the entire trilogy

Enjoy this new version of my video that shows you evidence of the Indoctrination Theory.

The Mass Effect 3 ending was nothing more but an illusion induced by Harbinger to trick Shepard to give in to indoctrination and become one of their tools in the war.

Here is a proper version of my first video regarding the INDOCTRINATION THEORY. It shows you many interesting hints which all support this theory of Shepard being indoctrinated (at least Harbinger tries to) at the end of the game.

Just remember they said that this is the end of Shepards story not the end of the franchise (universe as you say) They also hinted that future games will take place before or during Mass Effect 3 with the Reaper war still going on but not after

EA also admitted despite the ending incident the Mass Effect franchise will be with them for a very long time Mass Effect's outlook is bright for the foreseeable future

Don't think they'll make 10 sequels though. Maybe another trilogy then that's it

In the breath scene, you can hear a slight hint of wind in the background (turn up your volume to hear it). Wind is created by differences in atmospheric pressure, which there is no atmospheric pressure in space. Thus, you'd have to be on a planet to hear or experience wind.

During the beam run to the conduit, it was rainy as well as the wind was blowing in your face.

I'm not sure if ppl already made this comment, here it goes.

Why do ppl talk about the indoctrination theorie saying that sheppard is on earth?

Personally i think it feels more legit that shepard is waking up from the "arival DLC"

But then again the indoctrination might not be so quickly.

True, and I have to admit, that is what made the game so mysterious and exciting. But it wasn't because of the characters, it was the universe. The Mass Effect universe was a new place to discover; I walked around asking every question to understand everything. Once the universe is set, bringing new players in is perfectly acceptable, but if by doing so you push away the majority of players once invested into the game, you're doing bad business.

The evidence to support it is overwhelming. Way beyond coincidence. Kind of cool how in the first couple games the Council refuses to accept the possibility of the Reapers, dismissing them as a myth, then they show up in force in the third game. Myth busted.

Just remember, Starbinger said that not only would all synthetics die, but Shepard as well. Shepard wakes up pretty much says that kid is a big fat liar.

Bioware's target market for this game is actually casual gamers, not fans. Most games work this way. Casual gamers rule this industry. They tend to play games here and there and aren't too invested in the series. Play for fun.

Thing is, before even installing Mass Effect 1, we had no idea who Shepard was. What his personality was like or otherwise. We knew nothing.

Kind of like picking up a TV series for the first time. No idea what those characters were like either.

Maybe a something set a 1,000 years into the future of ME3 might be cool and your his/her's offspring... IDK I still think the indoctrination theory is legit. Shepard still wakes up and takes that deep breath at the end....

I'm not sure how I feel about playing ME without Shepard in it. It's not like Dragon Age where in the second one you play a new person. ME has been completely based on Shepard and his companions and their quest....
