It is loyalty to our ancestors and there way of life be it owning slaves or not wich i would love to point out the fact that people in the north owned slaves as well and were just as likely to be cruel to them. The fact that you say my ancestors flag is a faliure is comical considering how well the oh so "succesful" north has done with this horrible country we live in.

I saw a good bumper sticker about the stars and bars..."a sign of failure for over 150 years" I'm sure your attraction to that icon isn't thinking that it was a war about whether it was OK (or not) to enslave other human beings but instead think of it as symbol of independance. I understand that perspective...but live within 15 miles of where a hundred thousand+ americans died fighting each other...over a really bad idea.
