  • ¡AM YISRAEL JAY!

  • @espn613 The story behind the song A man from Vilna is true and it's about Rabbi Leo Goldman. The little 5 year old boy that he danced with was Abe Foxman of ADL. When Foxman heard this song, he traced back the origins to Rabbi Goldman. Both of the men met each other and the reunion was covered by the Detroit News. That Rabbi was a Soviet Soldier coming back home to Vilna when he asked (Foxman) the little boy if he was Jews. When Foxman said yes, the Rabbi picked him up and started dancing.

  • Detroit, and I dont recall the name of his town.

  • where do you live ?

did the gabbai mention he was from vilna?

  • I don't know the specifics on this story but the Gabbi in my shul is a survivor, and every simchat torah he recalls that they used children instead of sifrei torah for that first one after liberation.

  • who would like inform us lyrics of "A Man From Vilna" ?? thanksssssssssssssss

  • I wish the LORD to open your eyes by the Power of Ruach Elohim. Catholics are not Christians. All that stem from them. like the fruit of a poison tree, are counterfeit. No truly blood bought , grateful, grafted in Christian, who knows the heart of God could ever go against the Children of Israel. Am Yisrael Chai. In Christ an American Zionist.

  • is this a true story?

  • the most uplifting somg

    AM YISRAEL CHAI!

depsite all those who tried to destroy us; we will go on

as the last line says "The Jewish people will live on, Am Yisrael Chai"

  • What beautiful lyrics, especially for Shavu'ot or Simchat Torah! Kol Hakavod... thank you for posting this song and for the photos to remind us of Vilna and of other Shtetls in pre & post WWII Europe Jewish communities of how they were and how they came to be destroyed! WE WILL NEVER FORGET!

    AM YISRA'EL CHAI, L'OLAM VA'ED!
