According to the Fair Housing Laws, people living with disabilities have the right to make reasonable accommodations in order to ensure that their housing is accessible.

The Southern California Housing Rights Center is a private, non-profit whose mission is to eliminate housing discrimination. To find out more information or to file a housing discrimination complaint, call (800)387-8400 or visit www.hrc-la.org.

  • The State of CT and HUD said I don't have a right to reasonable accommodation because I am not disabled. My landlord complained that I was "making medical excuses at the last minute to intentionally delay repairs" because I went to have the lumps in my breast examined, although the appointment had been made six months earier, landlord knew about it for over a month, and no repairs were scheduled.

  • what a shame one hides behind the grandfather clause and then complains about being sued

  • How about a city that has zoning laws that prevent disabled people from living in a home. I am a Landlord, and I am being sued by my city & HOA for providing housing for disabled.

Landlords are not the problem. Powerful City Zoning Departments & HOAs are the main problem today.
