It is compassionate to consider the job security of those in a Presbytery or the General Assembly. But perhaps the risk of job loss, familiar to the rank and file of the church, introduces a healthy tension into the church's marketplace of ideas. I think high risk proposals such as 10-A require more than a simple majority for adoption in order to maintain unity. It puzzles me that people with jobs that depend on church unity didn't see this, or did, but decided not to win more hearts first.

Our local Presbyterian church voted a few months ago to leave the PCUSA. We have been considering this for years. Praise God for finding the Evangelical Presbyterian Church; a body that still believes God's Written Word is Truth.

This is a rather sad commentary and if you believe these things to be true, you are better off going a different direction. However, if you think the style of service shown at the beginning of the video is the answer to your issues, the Big Box, evangelical church style, I think you are wrong. Also, one of the great things about being a Presbyterian is that we do not have one head pastor saying ,"It's my way or the highway," and not answerable to anyone. God bless ad long live the PCUSA. What the "conflict" is about is basicly this: one believes either the Bible to BE the Word of God instead of the PCUSA believing it CONTAINS the Word of God. Our church is voting today to leave the PCUSA and go to the Evangelical Presbyterian Church. We will not be leaving them - they left us.
