Marty is AWESOME, Merle Haggard named one of his sons Marty, after Robbins!! They were really good friends!!!

Great vocalists, the both of them. And the energy...wow. Thank you for this video, it made my day. :)

A certified classic. Marty Robbins is an A-Class singer-songwriter: vocally gifted, loyal, a true gentleman, and developed his own signature persona - comical, joyous, and terrifically in-tune with the cards life deals us, and plays regardless. Great man

I love this vid - dad and son - but Marty's version is better (his voice) !!
But both (and the ballad) are unique - thanx !

Your welcome and thank you for your comment. Marty Robbins is a favorite of mine too. You can see where Marty Jr. is proud of his dad. I think that's great.

ronnie doesn't look like dad,but that singing voice leaves no doubt who dad is.he seems to have inherited dad's sense of humor, changing a word in a song now and then. i have been listening to a music site, labeling certain songs marty robbins, none marty jr. i had ronnie's album from 1967 [gone i know not where]there is a very slight difference if you listen closely you can tell, even with steel guitar in sr. and jr's records.

Thank you for your comment of Marty and his son. Yes, I think they both sound the same and Jr. has his father's sense of humer. Marty Jr. should go a long way. Marty Sr. will always be missed.
