Andrew Bird Live Sonic Arboretum MCA Happy Birthday Song

A little more of Andrew Bird seeding the Arboretum. The distinctive speaker horns were handmade by Ian Schneller. They are actually for sale, see Ian's site at Specimen Products Chicago. The installation runs until 12/31/2011 at the Museum of Contemporary Art. Andrew records the initial compositions on-site at the MCA and sends musical information to different groups of horns via multiple loops. He layers and changes the compositions throughout the remainder of the installation off-site via computer technology. Neal Strauch is the sound engineer extraordinaire seen in the video. Andrew will perform live on the main floor in front of the large spinning horn Dec 21-22. Both shows sold out.
