Kagan was to die in at this festival... He died about month later(cancer) after this wonderful performance in 1990. I am a violin player and I still cannot believe how a dying person can play like this... Thank you so much for posting

@ModernRitual I believe winning the Bartok Viola competition did his career no harm, but surely just watching and listening to his playing here should answer that question adequately! The guy is totally awesome!!!
