  • i have it threw hereditary from my mums side since i was around the age of 3 i am now 20 the doctors wouldnt belive my mum and didnt treat me for it till i was 5.

i still suffer with it now just not as frequently as i did when i was younger.

  • @joninct i know how you feel. i have gone through that more times then i can count since i was 17, so about 3 years now. and i really do feel sorry for you and i hope everything goes well in the near future. if they find anything that helps you please feel free to let me know.

  • @lmao1776 Thank you.

  • I've had it for about 5 years now. I'm on pain meds all the time. It sucks. Now when I get admitted, the pain meds in the hospital offer no relief. I would stay home, but I'm extremely diabetic now. I'm also always running some kind of vitamin or mineral deficiency. The clown doctors I get think 5 units of morphine is going to help. It's a sad joke. I got a question, when I get morphine or dilaudid in the hospital it hurts where the pain is for a second before the relief, anybody else?

It is amazing to me how I never heard of such an organ in our bodies until my husband almost died from it. Necrotizing Pancreatitis, it just started dying inside him. No warnings, symptoms, within 36 hours of ER admittance he was on life support!

  • @cdbicdb My first attack landed me in ICU with the Docs telling my wife I wouldn't make it through the night, they finally said she should go home to rest after 4 days and I was downgraded after 13 days.

I'm 9 yrs in now but the Quacks said I wouldn't live 5. I should count every day as a blessing, but thats a difficult thing whilst doubled up in pain most of the day.

I was in hospital every few weeks, but I stay out as long as i can bear now. Even going nil by mouth at home. Docs dont help.

  • @paulwilsonmusician You're right, and I did indeed end up in hospital just hrs after my last comment.

I am now being tested for a "Domino" effect of Pancreatitis where my entire endocrine system is buggered, resulting in Addisons disease, Cushings syndrome or others.

Oh and after 9 yrs, I still dont have adequate pain relief. I control it mostly by strict diet, but still have to endure excruciating pain daily.

    Doc's just don't do enough.

  • @easternimports I am up to 2.5 years of dealing with this. But I am doing alright. It is more of an annoyance right now. I take my diabetic meds, work out. Eat a very strict diet and absolutely never drink.

  • @kimblers how long have you had pancreatitis. how is it like now? what helps it?

  • High blood triglycerides and lipids are associated with it as well. The attack itself is painful beyond description.
