Good Lord - Okay, I'll admit it. I'm a grown man but I still think the word nipple is funny.

How were the bullets fed in the Model 1862 Gatling Gun? Also, how was the percussion cap replaced?

I always wondered about what kind of ammunition they used being that almost all weapons of the period were cap-lock guns. Even the Colt .45 of the period was a cap-lock gun and multiple cylinders could be preloaded for more firing. This is an example of fixed ammunition in that the cap-lock cartridge can be loaded in the field, then reloaded similarly to the loading of a cylinder of a period revolver. Fixed ammunition did not come in to wide use until after 1868.

Excellent video, demonstrating one aspect of the original Gatling mechanism.
If I recall correctly, these early Gatlings were built in 1in. and 1.5in. cal., and even a 3in. Naval gun, was at least, prototyped.
I assume yours was, or will be, built in .44 caliber?
You don't post a video with "Gatling Gun" in the title and then not have a gatling gun firing in the video. That's a total youtube foul.

I updated the title to "How a Gatling Gun Works." Hopefully, this will provide a little more relavant information about the content.
