Paypal is fine for items under $300- however over this amount you need to be very very careful. Paypal seller protection is a shocking joke ! THERE IS NO SELLER PROTECTION IN THE EVENT OF A CHARGEBACK! - Paypal will simply remove the funds from your account and put a collection agency onto you! Paypal is fine for $30- items ..... BUT DO NOT USE FOR ANY ITEM OF VALUE!
Ebay forces sellers to accept Paypal however the safety is non-existent!
Paypal Australia should be ashamed of the services they are offering. The safety is non existent
!
someone bought a dress from me for $50 like in May of 2011 and like December 2011 i get a email like you just said they basically neeeded more info by then the item photo and description was off of ebay. then i got a chargeback. they said it was unauthorized i had to pay $20 for chargeback. CONT FROM BELOW>>> To add insult to injury, they have placed holds on any new funds that I receive from future sells, even though I had enough funds in my PayPal account to cover both Chargeback’s. I am being reprimanded for some clerical error as I have 100% Feedback and have been an eBay member since 2008.

Here is one for you; I have had two Chargeback’s within the past two weeks. Both buyers left me a glowing feedback - the transactions where both approx 6 weeks old, both buyers have admitted that it was a mistake by their bank, both have phoned their credit card companies & PAYPAL to clear up the matter, and still NO REFUND by PayPal, although they have record of this. They have all the evidence that they need to clear this matter up, tracking #s, great feedback, buyer, etc. CONT>>>

I'm an ebay seller and i just had a chargeback form a buyer in Argentina, but in this case, he left a feedback saying he received the item and everything was OK. I sent that and the shipping proof, and i though it was just fine, but after what i just heard, i think it's hopeless. I got screwed !

These payment processors are so scared shitless of being fined that they will side with the "buyer" quite often. Paypal runs rampant w/ fraudsters, esp the Unverified PP accounts. it's sad so many people believe PP is totally secure. good luck dealing w/ Paypal! ur worst nightmare would be getting placed on the MATCH List = horrendous!

OMG. i'm assuming you've already shipped the item off. have u reported the shipping info to the authorities? anything on that end? it's true, PP will tell u that they will "try" to resolve the issue for u after u send ur Response to the chargback, however i've found that during my past experiences working on PP chargebacks for my previous employer, they usually come back & say "they tried to resolve the issue, but unfortunately bla bla & that we have fined you this much money".
