i did exactly what you said, and when i crank up the stereo and it turns off. now the fan the keeps the amp cool is not turning on

Question: Now that I know how to match speaker impedance to my amp, how do I determine the impedance of my amp if it is not labelled?
-
what should i consider if i am using a crossover?

I know you are trying to do a more practical lesson, for 'dummies' in electricity, etc. But I got here in your video searching for a lesson that tells why do people match impedances. Why does it damages the amplifier if you don't match them? thanks.

so the impedance rating of the amp is per channel, not total?
Can I connect a 750watt Sub to a 800watt Amp?

@noobsyb0t Yes you can.

and how about the matching wattage of AMps and speakerS? :)

@bercerobry Let's say yo uhave 10 10 watt speakers and a 100 watt amp. There you would have a matched set of speakers. But lets say you you want to add 10 more, so now you have 20 10 watt speakers. What would happen is because the amp can only give a max of 100 watts it would split the wattage in half. So the speakers would only get 5 watts each. The speakers would still function. Keep in mind the wattage of a speaker is not always what you need to power it. It will run on nominal power.

Hey, i got a question, in ur example u combines 8 (8Ohm) speakers.
Is it possible to combine:
- 2 (8Ohm) speaker
- 2 (6Ohm) speaker
- 2 (4Ohm) speaker
thanks

@baler18 first you need to know the impedance your amp has for output.
