I didn't take it out of context. And now you've changed from "shot down is a failure" to "being captured is a failure". Of course that's equally ridiculous, and I'm sure you don't care that both his arms were broken when he ejected, or that he landed in the middle of a pond, surrounded by Vietnamese, and was in the process of drowning when they pulled him out (he could not swim with his broken arms).
