  • Hey Desi. I bought fretboard theory from you a few years back and learnt some scales but didnt really know how to apply them! since then i've largely forgotten them and didnt make it all the way through the book...its not my best way to learn - what is your dvd like as a learning tool and does it cover applcation of theory, how much is it, what is included, etc.? thanks, Neville.

  • @NevvyC I would recommend Getting Started with the Pentatonic Scale DVD.

  • I own Desi Serna's Fretboard Logic and DVDs. In an age of gimmicky products, promising you the world, and leaving you with nothing, his products really shine. He simplifies things as much as possible, and avoids putting you to sleep with unecessarily long winded explanations. Desi covers the essentials in the most efficient way possible. I own dozens of guitar books, and have yet to come across anything better than Mr. Serna's products. This is a completely unsolicited comment, by the way.

  • @jnkhd Thanks. But I think you meant Fretboard Theory!

  • in that first example i thought you about to play pink floyd wish you were here

  • haha everything there sounded like other songs. The first one sounded like wish you were here by pink floyd, rock one sounded like back in black acdc, and then the motown thing sounded like my girl by the temptations.

  • @GuitarMusicTheoryTab

So when are you going to make a video about theory? I was hoping to find a theory video to go with your book. I am now buying the "Learn and Master Guitar Videos" but I will keep an eye out for a Theory Video from you.....(SOON?)

  • I bought the DVD series and it rekindled my interest in the guitar. Great info.
