O Sacred Head, Now Wounded - the ' Passion Chorale ' by Hans Leo Hassler and Harmonized By Johann Sebastian Bach.

This is a Choral Series Anthem by Harold Flammer Publishers for SATB. I particularly like the nice pedal work in this arrangement. I am performing it slowly like I would on Good Friday.

The Tune is sometimes sung as: O JESUS, We Adore Thee.

Thank you for visiting my video's and for sharing them with so many of your Christian friends.

Lance †

** This arrangement is in High Quality audio - if you are using Headphones, you will hear the nice spatial separation and pedals.

  • Lance, one of my favorite Lenten tunes and you played it so reverently and not rushed. I get goose bumps when I hear this and sing it. Thank you so much for sharing this arrangement. I added it to my favorites for sure.

  • You're welcome - a beautiful tune with beautiful words. I like the pedal work in this arrangement, hard to hear unless you have headphones on. Blessings to you †

  • How does anyone write anything that good?

  • I like this version better :)

  • When I first heard Paul Simon's "An AmericanTune", I was almost certain the melody was based on a hymn. We sang this in church at the Stations of the Cross last week and it finally clicked.

  • We recently did this in Choir. It was quite nice.
