Video opens with a driving shot of Subaru Outback on long, scenic drive. The couple in the car is newly married, and they're dressed in wedding attire. Cut to the back of the car to see "Just Married" written in the dust of the rear window, and pan down to see the clanking of cans tied to the bumper.

The couple comes upon a buffalo in the middle of the road. The man tries to get the buffalo to move, but he won't budge, so they go around the buffalo.

They stop at the top of a hill - There's a campsite set up at the bottom of the hill. He carries her piggyback down the hill to the tent. Rain starts falling and the tent collapses on top of them.

Next you see a man trying to put the tent back up while the soaking wet bride in the car is laughing at her new husband. He gives up and runs up the hill to join her in the car.

  • Subaru needs to lose the sappy "love" tagline and just focus on the "confidence in motion" tagline that they just implemented.

Don't get me wrong, I like some of Subaru's cars (there at least 3 in my family that I know of), but I wouldn't be caught dead driving one with these sappy (and thus crappy ) ads floating around out there.

The idiot at Subaru of America who green-lighted the whole "love" campaign should be fired. Bad ad campaigns can kill sales just as much as any other factor can.

  • @NinaStarfish and sure I have seen better commercials but that doesn't automatically write this off as a sucky one. Some of the most popular commercials out there today use something that has been "done before" or just readjust an old concept. Originality is just an illusion we create to make us feel some sense of importance.

  • @NinaStarfish How does anything I've said in my comment link in anyway to my creativity? Exactly. It doesn't. I was not saying this is a creative commercial but a sweet one and I was directing this comment to the people who were critiquing the characters in this commercial for making a "stupid" move like putting a tent in the wrong area. Sure it could have been better if he thought his plan through more thoroughly but things were the way they were and they came through it happy.

  • @maxim159 I'm not saying jeep is better I own an impreza and minus the reliability I enjoy it. I can't say I've driven a jeep but I don't imagine they're quite as fun or rigid. All I meant to say was it wouldn't surprise me if jeep tried to appeal to a certain audience by filming a jeep commercial in a war zone or a replicated one. I don't count the call of duty edition jeep commercials though.

  • @TheScoobNoob jeep isnt that good anymore unless you modify it. i got my legacy through dirt Alaska took it to dip snow in a winter and was only one with a sedan who drove without getting stuck Jeep is a city car now nothing more. Subaru has outstanding all-wheel drive system best one out there so plz for the love of god dont bring jeep (city car now) above Subaru. Jeep used to be nice off-road car but times changed

  • @shelton705 There is nothing wrong with laid back, whimsical and carefree but this commercial is totally co-opting those emotions in order to sell a product. The button pushing is so transparent. Advertising is a necessary part of capitalism. I just don't like when they turn it into a form of pollution. This commercial is almost a form of assault. I'm not kidding. It's that bad.

  • @shelton705 I wouldn't put it past jeep to do that.

  • @bucksfarmboy thank you for posting this...

  • @concretetundra You're an idiot

  • @concretetundra

What is wrong with laid back, whimsical, and carefree? Should they have made a commercial where they drive their Outback through the middle of an Iraqi battlefield?
