Jack Layton was without a doubt the best politician Canada has had in a long time. His character, patriotism, and optimistic spirit has inspired many including myself to not live everyday life in a selfish manner, but to strive to achieve a better Canada, one of equality, one with better environmental policies, one that does what is right and not just for financial gains.

Jack Layton's legacy will forever be remembered by my generation, he gave hope to a new generation. Thank you Jack Layton RIP

I wont speak ill of the dead nor will I try and canonize the unworthy. As a member of the left wing in Canada I will never forget or forgive the way Jack Layton & the NDP sold us out in 2006. I am reminded of it everyday that I wake to a 'Harper Government' that would never have been without the aid of Layton & the NDP. I wish you all a speedy passage thru your grieving, all I ask is that you check out the actions of the NDP in the /06 election. They are not friends of the left wing. Peace.

The worst thing about this was seeing him again on the day of his announcement. I think I knew then Jack wasn't going to be with us much longer. He looked and sounded so different, in my heart I was hoping he'd pull threw but it looked so bleck. Layton was so strong to be able to go up and speak to the nation like that and say the things he did. We lost a great political figure that day a great man, one cut down before he could do what he was born to do. Rest in Peace Jack.
