Part 2 of 2
A Toby Tatum Film
Terrain Vague opens on the aftermath of a violent scene -- the action having taken place before the film begins. The film then builds in anticipation of another violent encounter but, when it does come, the camera focuses on architectural details of the surrounding area rather than on the confrontation that is supposedly taking place.
Most of the film comprises the space separating these two frustrating incidents -- a limbo of suspended narrative.
