@Tr3v3336 You're right about the respect aspect. Not many do, due to their attitude. I could see it with my peers. The Marines respect the rank, not the individual. Once I was commissioned, I made it a point NOT to have that attitude. As a result, my Marines respected me. I often get asked if I was prior enlisted. I had a Sgt Maj approach me last week and tell me he wished there were more Officers like me. While there are several benefits to going enlisted first, it all comes down your attitude.

Honestly not many Officers that sign up straight out of College get any respect. If you want to do it right, the real way and honorable way its supposed to be done, then enlist first, get your degree while your in the corps, then go to OCS.
