Magicians Have Heart provides opportunities for children with a life threatening illness to learn basic magic skills and tricks, then provides a venue to perform for a real audience. What's remarkable, is how these kids have then gone to use this magic in the hospital for other children to ease their pain and spark their happiness.
Magicians Have Heart, also offers other youth magicians the opportunity to perform magic in front of a real audience (instead of asking mom, dad a brother or sister to again pick a card...). It can be tough as a child to getting a real 'gig' - and a secondary goal is to foster the creativity and art of magic with the youth generation.
All the while, it raises money and awareness for the A Kid Again (501 c3) organization who provides ongoing activities and lasting memories for children with life threatening illnesses.
The performance takes place at a local restaurant, which has always been a packed house. Patrons of the restaurant are encouraged to tip the performers. The performer with the highest earnings of the evening wins a family trip to Kings Island Amusement Park - donated in full.
Following the performance of the youth magicians, local professional magicians also come to perform and entertain the audience and raise/collect additional money.
100% of the proceeds benefit the A Kid Again, via the Miracles & Magic program.
