I made this video as a tribute to Dr.Montz for the graduating Hopkins residents the year he died, at 47. Rick, thanks for allowing me the honor of getting to know you. You died too young my friend. One of the greats in Gynocology Oncology. He always talked about going back to Cali, so, I put California Dreaming in the background.

  • Me again. If it's possible, I'd like to have my comments from four years ago deleted - I was having a bad moment, I didn't really mean them, and it's just not correct for them to be on the internet for Dr. Montz's grandchildren to see in the future. Truth is, Dr. Montz spent an inordinate amount of time answering my endless emails over many months. It was a desperate situation, and I was frantically looking for a solution to an unsolvable problem. My comments above are wrong, and I retract them.

  • @grandcru1 Your current feelings are all that matter.

  • I just saw his story on Hopkins 24/7! It's so ironic he helped patients deal with death as part of his life and even said death is part of life and LOOK what happened to him!!

The guy was a doctor so didn't he even get his OWN heart checked out??

    RIP Montz. Great guy.

  • @tzzlite As it turns out, I have found that most Docs don't visit their doctors near enough,,,

  • I just finished watching this program. Almost 10 years later and we are still googling someone many of us have never even met before... can you say legacy? We need more doctors like Rick Montz. Rest in Peace and God Bless his family!

  • @mountaingazer I thought it was really cool that he said he was a headbanger! Does anyone know if he liked RATT?

  • @mountaingazer REALLY?? How did you find that out? Are you a doctor yourself? You would think they would know better than ANYONE to visit their doctor!

  • It was nine years ago today he passed, such a loss to medicine and the women he help to save. My thoughts and prayer to his family and the patients who he impacted so profoundly.

  • I just saw him on OWN less than an hour ago and was immediately captivated by his compassion and sensitivity towards his patients. I really liked this man just by watching one show! Then at the end of the show I read that he passed unexpectedly in 2002. I was devastated and didn't even KNOW him! He truly touched me profoundly. I had to Google him and learn more about him. God bless his wife and children

  • Super Dr. with a great outlook on life and his career. God needed him to help somewhere else. RIP
