  • I know a film collector that has everything in this time on 16mm - I'll ask him- what are the titles?

  • The early movie stars had style. I've given you five stars, please check out my silent movie memorabilia vids (includes WC Fields)

    when you have time.

  • Mr.Fields didn't like doing this scene with movie comedy

director Mitch Leisen..mainly because Mr.Leisen mouthed

    off too much.

  • Man to be a fly on the wall back then in Hollywood. Or in this case a tree LOL. Thanks for sharing this.

  • Awesome clip, Steve!

  • The best directors of this type of comic(including the Marx Bros.) learn to stay the hell out of the way.

  • I can understand why this film clip "rare."

  • Interestingly, the "June bride" line did somehow find its' way into the final film. NOT, however, a remark that Fields made about Opera-star Kirsten Flagstad! Mitch Leisen & Fields hated each-other, and a second-unit director was brought-in to shoot the Fields' scenes. Leo Robin, who wrote the lyric to "Thanks for the Memory" lived in the same-condo as my grandfather(also a songwriter, at a different-studio),in Westwood, Ca. Leo and I became great-friends and he was a great-guy! R.J.

  • Big Broadcast of 1938 is infact available on a DVD. It is part of a double Feature about Bob Hope because Big Broadcast was Bob Hope First Film and is where he sings his famous theme song "thanks for the Memories"
