Oldham Music Centre Samba Band, July 2010

Oldham Council's Music Service has been running a 3 day holiday Wind Band course at the Music Centre and the Castleshaw Centre in Delph for children between the ages of 10 and 14 . The children really enjoyed themselves outdoors at Castleshaw despite some atrocious weather. Daily band band rehearsals were held in order to hone their skills on such pieces as Pirates of the Caribbean by Klaus Badelt. The band members also had great fun taking part in samba pieces in which they all had the opportunity to play Latin-American percussion instruments. The course culminated in a short concert to parents to demonstrate the results of their efforts. Here's a clip of the samba band from July 23rd, directed by Joe Weaver.
