Its funny what the other links you hit when you are searching for "saddleback backpack conversion."
They are all about religious conversions.....it should please Dave the owner of the company that makes the bag!

Key thing to note is that it works only in one direction. The buckle on the strap will not pass through the Ring on the top of the bag. The shoulder pad has to be squeezed through the ring. It has then to be adjusted to be symmetrical on your back and the pads adjusted for comfort.
It works well and feels fairly comfortable.
