Pangamot is the Filipino fighting art of unarmed defense against a knife or stick-wielding attacker. Christopher Petrilli, an 8th degree black belt under fighting legend Grandmaster Ciriaco "Cacoy" Cañete, gives you an inside look at a combat system that takes no prisoners in this explosive video production from Paladin Press.

Petrilli focuses his training on the "three Ds": defend, disarm and disable. That means that when you're unarmed against an attacker with a weapon, you must enter quickly to get inside the attack and stop him with a series of brutal strikes before he can achieve momentum. Then you disarm him, taking the weapon away so you can use it against him in a lock or a throw to ultimately disable him. In addition, Petrilli teaches kamot applications for many of these techniques: locks, chokes and throws against an unarmed opponent. His instruction includes dozens of disarms and stick strips, use of your attacker's punyo against him, compression locks from several angles and throws that will leave your opponent helpless on the ground.

This video would be much more informative without the wonky video F/X transitions and glow titles which only serve to obscure what you're trying to teach. Are you aiming for instruction, or mystification? Techniques look interesting, but are harder to grasp when the technology gets in the way of the instruction.

This is awesome. my only feedback is that usually when creating instructional videos it's preferable not to use females as the 'opponent' to demo on. People can get the wrong interpretation. Thanks
