I thought that it was just my judgement. When I drive on the freeway (in america) I check my mirrors every 10 sec (especially the rear view) to see if a car is approaching faster than I am going. Then I move over so they can pass. But, most ppl here don't do it. I mean I get onto the leftmost lane so I can go a little faster and there would be some1 going 50 mph on a 65mph and won't move over. Don't try honking, because then they will slow down even more. LOL
Granted, the Germans are good drivers, but they also have good highway traffic laws to go with it. They fine you there if you use the passing lane as your own "private idaho". My god do we ever need that in my country (Canada)!
In Australia the government tells us that you get killed if you do more than 100 kph so that they can go and set up speed cameras and book you $200 for doing 104kph but australian can't drive either so it is probably our own fault. Germans are good drivers i have driven on the autobarn a got passed by a grandma doing 180kph. Love it.
@czr7j9 yes mate I was driving Bmw 5 msport in Germany even small corsa was doing 115 mph, there were more cars but less trafic then UK, very good drivers.
whatever everyone else except germans think the autobahn is basicaly a racetrack where you can go as fast as u want,it's not,was no different from a motorway back in nz
its not a race track, and stereotyping that "everyone" thinks that its a race track isn't any better than people thinking it is. many are just either uninformed or misinformed about it. i lived in germany for half my life and i know for fact that only out in the countryside the speed limits ceases to exist. but not always. also once you near a town or city speed limits signs posted every few miles start to appear also during rush hour speed limits are posted. the germans also have tougher...
drivers exams as opposed to other countries, esspecially towards the united states. i live in america and the test is too easy to fail. which is why we have such a high crash rate percentages. granted we also have more persons driving on the road than any other country per sq. mile. still, we should test restrict the testing back to 18 yrs old and become more strict on how we give exams to our youths.
