Yes, horses are indeed sold to slaughter. The last slaughter house in the USA shut down in 2002 (2003?) but now many horses are shipped to Mexico and/or Canada to be slaughtered there. I don't like it at all, believe me!!! I'm a wild horse freak and I know almost everything to know about them that there is to know and I want them wild and free like they're supposed to be!! Thumbs up if You're with me here!!

Best part of this video was when they escaped and the fat guy fell on his face at 1:25

@17mndrake they are talking about opening it up again within the next couple of months
:( i wish they could all be wild and free too

@bustyn Cattle and sheep are non-native too, yet they take up almost all the range land, including taking it from the wild horses. But of course since all the couch potato Americans have to be fed, it's perfectly fine to have those land-stripping grazers...
I understand the effect that a non-native species can have. It's a human error that we think we can just plop anything wherever we want. But there's less than, what, 15-20 thousand left? If that? They never created such devastating effects.

@TheBlueRainWolf This is what happens when a non native species is introduced to an ecosystem. The wild horses are essentially an invasive species. They were introduced to this area, and it cannot sustain them. In order to return this ecosystem to a proper balance, the invasive species should be eradicated.
I wish they would just leave the horses alone. But it's funny when the horse knocks the fat man on his buns

@TheBLAZEbaby100 If they leave the horses alone they will all die of starvation; there are too many horses and too little grass. For more information type YAKAMA HORSES DILEMMA in your browser.

@animalLuverify One of the many realities of life as a wild horse. Some get escape, some don't. Of those that don't some get adopted, some don't. Such is life. If none are removed eventually the land cannot support them and all suffer the consequences: prolonged starvation.

@knimig Yeah i konw, but it still is really sad. But the horses mostly (IN MY OPINION) don't need to be rounded up. I agree with you that the land will run out of natural resoursces sooner or later, but when that does happen, it doesn't need to be so harsh

@animalLuverify The land HAS run out of resources. There are more than 12,000 now trying to stay alive on land that the experts say can sustain only 1500 horses without doing permanent damage to the land and the streams where the young salmon are hatched. Because salmon are a main food resource for the Yakama people damaged to their food and land is a serious problem. A very harsh and very expensive problem to the people. Which is more important the people, fish or inconvenience to the horses?
