Decades ago, the CharlesTown outlet center on Turner Street,in Utica, NY was a thriving shopping destination.
Now, with vines creeping up the discolored bricks, weeds growing and litter floating on the surface of the property's pond, it almost feels abandoned.
How incredibly sad. I shopped there back in the mid 80's and it was such a wonderful destination. Are there any new efforts to save the property?

Went there several times in the early-mid 80s as a child.. remember old wooden floors and an arcade on the upper floor at one of the ends. I'm convinced these factories have a second, third and fourth life as shopping centers or residential lofts, or a mix of the two. We don't build like this today, they're a treasure investors have little interest in committing to. Thanks for posting this.
